WILKES-BARRE — A former college cross-country coach caught in an online child solicitation sting in 2022 was sentenced to up to 23 months in prison.
Nicholas Wadas, 44, of West Vaughn Street, Kingston, was charged by Kingston police based on online communications with Musa Harris, the self-proclaimed Luzerne County Predator Catcher, in November 2022.
At the time, Wadas was a cross-country coach at Wilkes University and an occupational therapist at a private school.
Wadas was terminated from both institutions following his arrest.
Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas Judge Michael T. Vough sentenced Wadas to nine to 23 months at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for criminal attempt to commit unlawful contact with a child. Wadas pleaded guilty to the charge Dec. 15, 2025.
Wadas was given credit for 58 days of time served at the county correctional facility prior to being sentenced. Wadas is also subject to 25 years’ registration as a sex offender under the state’s Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act.
