HANOVER TWP. — A Plymouth man was charged by Hanover Township police with stalking and intercepting communications after allegedly placing a GPS tracking device on a woman’s vehicle.
Daniel Cory Miller, 47, of Shupps Lane, was arraigned on the charges by District Judge Kyle Halesey of Hanover Township and released on $50,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaint:
A bartender at Yosemite Saloon on Oxford Street reported to police she discovered a GPS tracking device on her vehicle when her cellphone sent her notifications of her travels.
Video surveillance from the saloon showed a man, identified as Miller, lying on the ground next to the woman’s vehicle on Aug. 10.
The bartender told police she knew Miller, as they met to have drinks prior to discovering the GPS device, the complaint says.
During an interview with police, Miller denied he placed the GPS device on the woman’s vehicle as he claimed he checked the vehicle for an oil leak. Miller later admitted he placed the device on the woman’s vehicle to know where she was working, the complaint says.
