Catherine Cremard, of Duryea, celebrated her 100th birthday on March 6 with family and friends.
She is the second youngest child of the late Motiejus “Michael” and Agota “Agnes” Kalinauskas-Kalson of the “Bush Patch,” Old Forge. Catherine married her love, the late Louis “Pat” Cremard, on Nov. 6, 1943.
Catherine is a hard-working woman, beginning full-time employment at the silk mill in 1929. She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Church in Duryea since 1915, only six years after it was built. She was the oldest parishioner when the church closed its doors for the final time in 2010. Catherine’s interests include spending time with her family, dancing, gardening and visiting casinos.
She has three children, Louis Cremard, of Duryea; Katherine McDermott, of Duryea; and AnnMarie Estock, of Wilkes-Barre; four grandchildren, MaryAnn Stanton, the late Louis Cremard, Jr., Robert McDermott and AnnMarie Kondrad; and four great-grandchildren, Marissa McDermott, Madison Stanton, Gianna McDermott and Kaitlyn Kondrad.
A party was held at Savo’s Pizza in Pittson to celebrate the event.
