WEST PITTSTON — Trivia Night at the West Pittston Library will be held at at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 13. Cost is $10 per team with three to six members needed per team. The winners of Trivia Night will receive full bragging rights and be featured in the upcoming newsletter and the library’s Facebook page. Register by Tuesday, March 10.
Join retired dietician Mary Babcock at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 as she discusses the wild history of ale in the colonies, its impact during the revolution and present day beer. Register by Tuesday, March 17.
Dash, Devour and Drink will meet at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, March 20. This new book club will stretch your imagination as well as your legs. Get together with your favorite librarians for a walk/run around West Pittston where we will discuss that month’s selection (or other things) followed up with a beverage recipe that compliments the book we read (or didn’t read). Reading is optional, fun is not! The book for March is “A Tale of Two Cities” by Charles Dickens. Register by Tuesday, March 17 for this free program.
Fabric Wrapped Bangles & Wine will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25. Learn how to create beautiful, colorful bangles using strips of fabric. We’ll supply two bangles, glue and some fabric options. Feel free, though, to bring some of your own fabric for more choices. Register by Monday, March 23 for this program. Cost is $15.
The West Pittston Library will take a field trip to the Susquehanna Brewing Company in Pittston at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 26. We will receive an all-access tour, hear the story of the brewing company as well as sample some of their best selections. Register by Tuesday, March 24 for this free program.
Fitness Fridays with the YMCA will be held 4:15 p.m. on Friday, March 27. Visit the library after hours for a 45-minute introductory fitness class taught by one of the great instructors at the Pittston YMCA. For March we will be working on Piloxing – an exciting mix of Pilates, boxing and dance. Register by Tuesday, March 24 for this free program.
Just in time for spring, the library will have seed packets available for patrons beginning in March. Come in and peruse our offerings, taking up to three packets.
Weekly Story Time is held at 1 p.m. every Friday. Register by Wednesday of each week. Registration is required for this free program.
