SCRANTON — The Second Annual Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash, a free event hosted by the Scranton Cultural Center will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Masonic Temple’s Creative and Performing Arts Center (CaPAA). It will not only celebrate the birthday of one of America’s most beloved children’s authors, but also highlight CaPAA’s Summer Camp Program staff.

Rounding out the planned activities are readings of Dr. Seuss’ books with volunteers from the Lackawanna County Library System. Former CaPAA summer Ccmpers will present scenes from “Seussical the Musical” at noon and birthday cake will be served at 12:30 p.m.

Although the event is free, donations will be accepted to benefit the Creative and Performing Arts Academy Scholarship Fund.

The Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash is sponsored in part by WVIA Public Media and Infinite Sweets.
