PITTSTON — A woman from Exeter was arraigned Thursday on charges she used a Taser to assault another woman inside a house trailer in Birchwood Estates earlier this year.
Kasey Renee Cooper, 21, of Birchwood Estates, was charged by Exeter police with unlawful restraint, illegal use of a incapacitation device, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment for the alleged assault on Jan. 25. She was also charged with possessing synthetic marijuana during a traffic stop in Exeter on Oct. 29. Cooper was arraigned by District Judge Alexandra Kokura Kravitz in Pittston and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $35,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaints:
Tiffany Clifford told police she went to the house trailer of Trevor Hurysh and while in the kitchen, she claimed his girlfriend, Cooper, struck her with a metal baton. Clifford fell to the floor as two men held handguns to her head.
Hurysh told Clifford, “I know what you’re trying to pull,” believing she was going to rob him, the complaints say.
Clifford and Brittany Moscatelli, who was in the trailer, claimed they were shocked with a stun gun while they were being held against their will, according to the complaints.
Police said Clifford had injuries to her arm and legs and Moscatelli had injures to her head and arms.
In the other incident, Cooper and Hurysh were passengers in a vehicle stopped by Exeter police for an expired registration sticker and no muffler in Birchwood Estates.
Police allege they found 127 packages of synthetic marijuana in the car, the complaint says.
Hurysh was arraigned March 5 on the synthetic marijuana possession charges and was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
