KINGSTON — Police on Sunday said Michael Davis Jr., 19, of Plains Township, was arrested and charged in the armed robbery of the Turkey Hill store on Main Street.

Officers Ryan Mahovich and Michael Haley responded to the store at 3:39 p.m. for the report of an armed man who robbed the store and fled with cash and cigarettes.

Police said Mahovich a short time later saw the suspect that was described fleeing the scene and chased him on foot through several yards and streets.

Police apprehended the man who was later identified as Davis. He was charged with robbery, possessing an instrument of crime, theft by unlawful taking and terroristic threats.

Police transported Davis to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, where he was arraigned by District Judge James Tupper, Kingston Township, and committed to the prison for lack of $25,000 bail.
