WILKES-BARRE — A man charged with shooting and killing another man outside a Plymouth bar is now scheduled to stand trial next summer.

The trial of Anthony Lamar Jackson, 38, Wilkes-Barre, is set to start July 30, 2018.

Jackson pleaded not guilty to the charges against him at his formal arraignment in Luzerne County Court on Wednesday, court documents show.

Jackson is accused in the early July 9 shooting death of Anthony James Wisneski, 34, Nanticoke.

State Police say both Jackson and Wisneski were at RisNick’s Bar in Plymouth that night.

Jackson was arguing with another patron when the defendant, the other patron, Wisneski and bar security stepped outside to settle the argument, authorities report.

It’s at this point, police say, that Jackson shot Wisneski multiple times before fleeing the scene. Officers later learned that Jackson was staying at a residence in Leola, Lancaster County, where he was apprehended later that same day.

Wisneski was a father of four, and his wife, Shannon, had warned him not to go to the East Main Street bar on the night he was killed.

Shannon said previously that she hopes Jackson spends the rest of his life in prison.
