WILKES-BARRE — The Victims Resource Center, the Wilkes-Barre City Health Department and the Wilkes-Barre City Crime Watch are collaborating to offer “Parents in the Know,” a sexual-abuse-prevention program that helps parents and guardians build, practice and strengthen skills to prevent child sexual abuse.

“Parents in the Know” will be offered in four, two-hour interactive sessions on Nov. 20, Nov. 27, Dec. 4 and Dec. 11. The program will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Victims Resource Center, located in the Kirby Health Center at 71 N. Franklin St. in Wilkes-Barre.

The program is free and open to all Luzerne County residents, but registration is required. To register, contact the Victims Resource Center Education Department at 570-823-0766, Ext. 213, or email [email protected].

Center staff members will provide child care for children during the programs, and free parking is available.
