WILKES-BARRE — A warrant has been issued for a Wilkes-Barre woman who failed to appear at her sentencing after she pleaded guilty last month to violently shoving a 12-year-old girl.

Marlenea Uravage, 30, pleaded guilty to simple assault Oct. 11, admitting she shoved Presley Keeney to the ground May 28 outside of a convenience store in Wilkes-Barre.

Luzerne County Judge David Lupas had scheduled her sentencing for Friday.

But Uravage, whom court records show had been out on bail since Aug. 2, never showed up, so Lupas issued a warrant for her.

However, the mother of the young victim said she saw Uravage when she was going to the Luzerne County Courthouse for the sentencing.

Chere Fuller, Keeney’s mother, said she and Keeney saw Uravage walking on Water Street, adding she walked right past them.

“She has no remorse; she’s a monster,” said Fuller. “I just want it done and over with already.”

Police say Uravage shoved Keeney outside the Quick Stop, across Route 309 from Home Depot, when a man reportedly approached the girl and asked for something to eat from her bag of snacks.

Surveillance video from outside the store shows Uravage walking over to the man and Keeney. She shoved the man away, then turned quickly and shoved the girl, police say.

Keeney, who Fuller said weighs only about 80 pounds, was shoved so hard, her head almost struck the store’s door as she flew backward, police said.

Uravage was captured on camera running from the scene.

Uravage’s failure to appear Friday is not the first time she’s fled from law enforcement. She was arrested in Nanticoke with the assistance of U.S. Marshals more than two weeks after the May 28 incident.

Marlenea Uravage, 30, is led out of the Wilkes-Barre police station after her arrest this summer for allegedly shoving a 12-year-old girl outside a convenience store. A warrant has now been issued for Uravage after she failed to show up for sentencing Friday.
