KINGSTON — Police arrested a man they alleged attempted to sell a stolen iPad Pro when its owner and a friend set up a sting to get it back.

Bradley Cross, 24, was allegedly caught with the iPad while standing outside Walgreens Pharmacy at Market Street and Wyoming Avenue just before 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Cross was waiting for a customer to return with cash but the customer was in on the sting and called police.

Cross, of Rutter Avenue, Kingston, was arraigned Tuesday in Luzerne County Central Court on a single count of receiving stolen property. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

According to the criminal complaint:

Three iPad Pro devices were reported stolen to Kingston police on Jan. 22.

Soon after the theft, the owner began looking for those responsible and learned Cross was allegedly selling an iPad Pro on the website letgo.com. Arrangements were made to meet Cross outside Walgreens.

As the owner sat in a vehicle, a friend talked with Cross and inspected the iPad, noticing the serial numbers matched one of three stolen devices.

The friend told Cross he needed to leave to get cash to buy the iPad.

Instead, the friend and the iPad’s owner drove across Market Street to CVS Pharmacy where they called police.

Police located Cross in front of Walgreens holding a blue bag containing an iPad.

Police alleged the serial numbers on the iPad that Cross was carrying matched the serial numbers of one of the devices stolen from the Kingston residence.
