EDWARDSVILLE — A woman charged earlier this month on accusations she stabbed another woman in an eye with a knife was arraigned Wednesday.

Police allege Qualuani Jzarie Anthony, 25, rushed at Kathy Curry on the front porch at 815 Main St., stabbing Curry in the right eye Jan. 5.

An arrest warrant was issued the same day for Anthony, charging her with two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and prohibited offensive weapons. She was arraigned by District Judge Donald Whittaker in Luzerne County Central Court early Wednesday afternoon and jailed for lack of $250,000 bail.

According to a criminal complaint:

Curry told police she was with her boyfriend, Nathaniel Moore, when Anthony showed up yelling. Anthony smashed a car window and stabbed a tire on Curry’s vehicle.

Anthony then rushed at Curry, stabbing her in the right eye with a kitchen knife.

Moore told police Anthony was his ex-girlfriend and showed up at his residence screaming. Moore claimed he saw Anthony run into her residence after Curry was assaulted.

Police were unable to find Anthony at her residence at 750 Main St., Edwardsville. But she was later found sitting in a bathroom inside 811 Main St.

Curry was treated at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.
