WILKES-BARRE — A Butler Township woman accused of soliciting someone to kill her ex-husband and his wife will undergo a mental health evaluation prior to her trial, tentatively set for this spring.

Luzerne County Judge Michael T. Vough on Thursday scheduled Agnes Marsicano’s trial for the week of May 14.

Her attorney, Charles Ross, said Marsicano, 62, will undergo a mental health review prior to trial.

Hazleton police arrested Marsicano on Dec. 8 after she tried to hire another woman to kill her ex-husband, Dwight Bicking, but later changed her target to Bicking’s wife, Amy Metzger Bicking, according to a criminal complaint.

Marsicano allegedly offered to give the other woman the deed to her house on South Old Turnpike Road, which she claimed is appraised at $157,000.

Authorities recorded a phone call Marsicano made to the other woman Dec. 4. The woman reportedly told Marsicano she was not interested in doing the “job” herself but had a friend who might. That friend turned out to be an undercover police officer, the complaint says.

The undercover officer called Marsicano on Dec. 4, at which time she told the officer she changed her plans, police say.

“What I want instead of my ex, Dwight A. Bicking, is his wife, who destroyed our marriage,” Marsicano allegedly said. She said killing Amy Metzger Bicking would do the most damage to her ex-husband, according to court papers.

“I want her, I want her gone, I want her gone as soon as possible. This will take care of my ex-husband, help me, and help my children,” Marsicano allegedly said during the call.

Marsicano met with the undercover officer with pictures of her ex-husband and his wife, police say.

She was charged with solicitation to commit criminal homicide. She remains jailed at the county lockup without bail.
