WILKES-BARRE — A man from Harding charged with threatening a district judge waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Luzerne County Central Court on Monday.

Harry Yaletsko, 71, of Yaletsko Road, waived a single count of terroristic threats to county court.

Prosecutors withdrew charges of harassment and disorderly conduct against Yaletsko, who is represented by Attorney Pete Moses.

West Pittston police charged Yaletsko on Jan. 31 when he allegedly looked at District Judge Joseph Carmody and stated, “I’m just going to have to get my 44 magnum,” according to the criminal complaint.

Carmody looked at Yaletsko, asking, “Are you threatening me, because I just took that as a threat.”

Prior to the alleged threat, Carmody presided over a summary hearing involving Yaletsko, finding him guilty of harassment. During the hearing, Carmody advised Yaletsko about his language in the courtroom.

Yaletsko remains free on $250,000 bail. His next scheduled court hearing is before Judge David Lupas on April 13.
