HANOVER TWP. — A woman and child involved in a crash near Exit 2 off Route 29 on Wednesday were taken to the hospital, according to police.

One of the vehicles involved, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, rolled over onto its side.

A Hanover Township officer told the Times Leader the victim was a female who looked to be in her late 30s or early 40s and she had a 5-year-old child in the vehicle. She was apparently traveling toward Wilkes-Barre.

Both were taken to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, but there were “no major injuries.” The officer described the incident as a two-vehicle crash, but did not give further details.

Police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 6:30 p.m.
