Wilkes-Barre to begin picking up yard waste April 23

WILKES-BARRE — The city will begin curbside yard waste collection on Monday, April 23, and the pickups will follow the regular collection schedule.

Also beginning April 23, residents can drop off yard waste at the DPW Garage, 2 Conyngham Ave., between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Those hours will change to 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Accepted items include: leaf waste, grass clippings, sod, garden residue, garden waste and wood waste. Yard waste will be accepted in yard waste bins or yard waste bags.
