Rent check stolen

WILKES-BARRE — A 33-year-old woman from Logan Street reported to city police Thursday that she sent her rent check to her landlord who never received it. The woman later learned the check was cashed by an unknown person at an ATM on April 14.

WB man accused

of damaging car

WILKES-BARRE — City police said they cited Rafael Reyes, 37, of Woodside Drive, Wilkes-Barre, with criminal mischief and harassment after he allegedly damaged a windshield-wiper lever inside a vehicle. A 48-year-old woman told officers she was driving on Scott Street and had to abruptly stop due to a vehicle blocking the roadway at about 7:42 a.m. Tuesday.

The woman claimed Reyes exited the vehicle blocking the road, yelled at her and asked her for identification. She claimed Reyes reached into her vehicle at one point, damaging the wiper lever.

Wallet stolen from vehicle

WILKES-BARRE — A 30-year-old man reported to city police Wednesday that an unknown person entered his wife’s vehicle on South Grant Street and stole a wallet. The man reported the theft occurred April 15 or April 16.

Burglary reported

WILKES-BARRE — A 60-year-old man reported Wednesday that items were stolen during a burglary at a South Empire Street residence.

Home’s window damaged

WILKES-BARRE — An unknown person broke a front window at a residence on Madison Street with a piece of broken asphalt, officers report.

A 68-year-old man reported the incident Wednesday.
