President Donald Trump’s announcement Tuesday that the U.S. will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal set off a firestorm of commentary around the country and here in the Wyoming Valley.
Readers on the Times Leader website and on the paper’s Facebook page had strong views on both sides, with more than 100 comments as of Tuesday evening.

Dave Resavage: Ha, Ha, Ha….Here come all the experts of doom….prophesizing President Trump is going to lead us to war with Iran… So for those of us keeping score: 2 months ago..the same “experts” warned us: #1. Repealing Net Neutrality would silence everyone on the internet. #2. Month ago it was: Trump is angering North Korea and they are going to bomb us. #3: Last week it was OMG – Guns are going to kill us. #4: Now it is…Trump is going to lead us into war with Iran!!!! WHAT THE HELL NEXT ARE YOU GOING TO BE BITTER, ANGRY AND WRONG ABOUT????

Tom1954: On Boomberg News, a gasoline market analyst from Lundberg predicted a $.25 increase in gas this summer as a result of this treaty being broken.

Smack Kenny: Trump is listening to Bannon and showing that the United States is not to be trusted. Obviously Kim is paying attention to this. Trump will get tied in knots if they ever actually meet.
dapardan: Iran has been cheating on the agreement and making a fool of America ever since Obama gave them one and a half billion in cash to use in supporting terrorism and acquiring nuclear weapons. President Trump is showing the world what a real American leader looks like.
