Gas line ruptures in Kingston

A gas line under a sidewalk at North Landon Avenue and Market Street was struck at about 2:15 p.m. Thursday. -

KINGSTON — A crew from Asplundh struck an underground natural gas line causing one lane of Market Street to be closed as repairs were made Thursday afternoon.

The gas line under a sidewalk at North Landon Avenue and Market Street was struck at about 2:15 p.m.

Traffic was not affected as the driving lane of Market Street was already closed due to the Asplundh crew working at the intersection.

Kingston firefighters were on scene.

A crew from UGI Utilities quickly arrived and clamped the leak.
