EDWARDSVILLE — The daughter of convicted killer Hugo Selenski was drinking with the estranged wife of one of her father’s victims before a domestic incident Tuesday night, according to court papers filed Wednesday.
Jamie Leigh Bartoo, 25, of Bunny Lane, Edwardsville, was charged after her live-in boyfriend, Jeffrey Tyler, claimed she attacked him after she had been drinking with Kim Kerkowski, court papers say.
Kerkowski was the estranged wife of Michael Kerkowski who, along with Tammy Fassett, were tortured and killed by Selenski and Paul Weakley in May 2002.
Bartoo is the biological daughter of Selenski, who is serving two life terms in state prison after a Luzerne County jury convicted him after a three week trial in January 2015.
Weakley pleaded guilty to a federal racketeering charge that linked him to the killings of Michael Kerkowski and Fassett. Weakley is serving life in a federal prison.
According to the criminal complaint filed against Bartoo:
Police responded to Bunny Lane encountering Bartoo and Tyler fighting in the middle of the street at about 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Police noted Tyler had visible injuries to his neck, chest and arms.
Tyler allegedly told police Bartoo returned home after drinking with Kerkowski and began arguing with him because he was playing video games all day.
Bartoo picked up a child and continued to scream at Tyler.
Tyler told police he took the child from Bartoo’s grasp and Bartoo began pulling at the child. Tyler then gave the child to his friend, James Pollick, the complaint says.
Tyler alleged Bartoo then attacked him, leaving numerous scratches on his neck, chest and arms. Police said Tyler wanted to pursue charges against Bartoo, who was arrested.
Bartoo was arraigned Wednesday by District Judge Joseph Spagnuolo Jr. in Luzerne County Central Court on charges of simple assault, harassment, public drunkenness and two counts of disorderly conduct. She was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
