Four charged with trespassing at condemned WB house

WILKES-BARRE — City police arrested four people after they were allegedly found inside a vacant house condemned by the Code Enforcement Office.

Police charged the following with criminal trespass and defiant trespass: Yusuf Wright, 39, of Beech Street, Wilkes-Barre; Andrew Casterlin, 30, of Burke Street, Wilkes-Barre; Nicole Novak, 23, Scranton; and Bernard Wengzen, 48, of Charles Street, Wilkes-Barre.

Police allege Wright climbed out a window at 145 S. Sherman St., where Casterlin, Novak and Wengzen were found inside at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officers said code enforcement had posted “No Trespassing” signs at the residence Friday.

Wright and Novak were released on $5,000 unsecured bail. Casterlin and Wengzen were jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.
