WILKES-BARRE — A 46-year-old man claimed he was assaulted and robbed while walking Tuesday night, the second street robbery to be reported in the city in 24 hours.
The latest incident occurred in the area of West Ross and West River streets at about 11:37 p.m. when the man claimed he assaulted from behind and robbed. He identified the attackers as black men, police said.
Police said the man suffered an injury and was transported to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
A day earlier at 11:37 p.m. Monday, a 57-year-old man reported two black men armed with a firearm robbed him of a yellow mountain bicycle and other belongings in the area of South Pennsylvania Avenue and Dana Street. Police did not report if the man involved in the incident Monday night was injured.
