KINGSTON — Supervisors decided Wednesday to budget $23,510 in funding for safety upgrades at the intersection of Franklin Street and busy Route 309 as part of an Automated Red-Light Enforcement project.
The money is being set aside for engineering services by Barry Isett & Associates, an engineering firm with an office in Plains Township.
“We are in the planning stages,” Supervisor Chairman James Reino Jr. said. “The proposed project is two years away from starting.”
In June 2017, Kingston Township received $126,240 from the state to fund the installation of ADA-complaint curb ramps, LED pedestrian facilities and new pavement markings, which is part of the proposed plan.
In other news:
• Kingston Township, in cooperation with Dallas Borough and Dallas Township, will hold registration for the Summer Recreation Program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, at the Center Street Park Pavilion on East Center Street across from the municipal building.
The Summer Recreation Program is for children who completed kindergarten up to age 12 who reside in the Dallas School District.
The day camp program will operate 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, starting Monday, July 2, and ending Friday, Aug. 24, at the park, weather permitting.
A varied schedule will feature crafts, games, sports, special guest speakers and field trips.
