Strawberry Festival on Public Square is Thursday

WILKES-BARRE — The inaugural Strawberry Festival on Public Square — “Summer in the City” — begins Thursday, on the first day of summer, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The festival will be a strawberry-themed Farmers Market, with every vendor offering something strawberry.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins’ mascot Tux will visit, and D&N Furniture will sponsor a live performance of Strawberry Jam from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Additionally, the Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO) will have a live cooking demonstration during the festival.
