SWOYERSVILLE — No autopsy was performed on a woman who died after being struck by her own unoccupied vehicle on Townsend Avenue on Wednesday night.

The Luzerne County coroner’s office identified the victim as 86-year-old Florence Haddick.

Coroner William Lisman listed Haddick’s death as accidental.

Swoyersville Police Chief David Latoski could not be reached for comment Thursday.

Police were dispatched to Townsend Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report about a vehicle rolling over a person.

Police Sgt. Kyle Castner said at the scene the owner of the vehicle was struck by her own vehicle.

“This is one of those freak accidents,” Castner said Wednesday night. “It could happen to anyone who forgets to put their car in park.”

Castner noted there was no appearance of any criminal activity.
