WILKES-BARRE — A Plains Township man who allegedly abandoned a 6-month-old girl at a Wilkes-Barre toy store waived his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday.

Thomas Himlin Jr., 24, of Union Street, now faces trial on a child endangerment charge.

City police allege Himlin entered the Toys “R” Us store on Kidder Street and left a toddler in a child safety seat with an employee on May 2. Himlin asked the employee to watch the infant, left the store and never returned, according to a criminal complaint.

Himlin remains free on $10,000 unsecured bail.
