WILKES-BARRE — A man who pleaded guilty to 100 counts of child pornography earlier this year was sentenced Monday to three to 15 years in state prison.

Adam Snide, 42, must also serve 21 years on probation when he finishes his time behind bars.

Snide also previously admitted to two felony charges of disseminating photos or films of children in sex acts.

Luzerne County Judge David W. Lupas handed down the sentence, giving Snide 171 days credit for time already served. He was previously ordered to register as a sex offender for 25 years, and he may not have any contact with children or places that children frequent. He is also not allowed to possess any sort of pornography.

Snide was initially arrested Aug. 1 while staying at the home of then Rice Township Supervisor Marcia Thomas on Heslop Road.

Court records, meanwhile, list Snide’s place of residence as Wilkes-Barre.

Snide told police Thomas knew nothing of the child pornography, and she was never implicated by police as being connected to the case in any way.

Police said many of the images were sexually violent, with images of children having been bound and gagged. Officers said some of those images were of infants.

Officers said they found so many pornographic images they stopped counting while serving the warrant.

Snide told police he had been viewing and sharing child porn for 20 years, telling officers they might find around 10,000 files.

Snide was remanded to a state prison to begin his sentence.
