WILKES-BARRE — A member of the Wilkes-Barre Area School District board has made waves on social media after a post in which he apparently joked about a news story describing sex between a teacher and a student in another state.

Ned Evans, 63, serves as a school director for the district.

Screenshots viewed by the Times Leader show a comment posted by what appears to be Evans’ account on someone else’s Facebook post about a married teacher who was caught performing oral sex on a 13-year-old.

“Probably broke her teeth on it. Lol,” was Evans’ apparent comment.

Later, he issued a Facebook apology, screenshots also showed.

“MY SINCERE APOLOGIES for posting an insincere, stupid comment on Facebook earlier. Clearly, I wasn’t thinking nor respecting the feelings of others nor my position. Again, I’m truly sorry.”

Efforts to reach Evans were not immediately successful Monday night. A call to Wilkes-Barre Area School District board solicitor Raymond Wendolowski was also not immediately returned.
