WYOMING — Borough police charged two more men for their alleged roles in assaulting and robbing a man who was lured to a location to buy a smart watch earlier this month.
Police allege Brandon Robinson, 19, of Exeter, Cody Amos, 20, of West Pittston, and Corey Gavin Hodgson, of Exeter, conspired to rob Thomas Brennan in the rear of Ron Ostrowski Auto Sales on Wyoming Avenue on July 9.
Robinson and Amos were arraigned Tuesday by District Judge Joseph Halesey in Luzerne County Central Court. Hodgson was arraigned July 13.
According to criminal complaints:
A surveillance camera at the used car lot recorded the assault and robbery.
Brennan told police he was looking to purchase a smart watch and was called by a juvenile female who offered to sell him one. They agreed on a price of $70.
Brennan was instructed to meet the girl at her apartment on Wyoming Avenue.
When Brennan arrived, he parked in the rear of the used car lot and exited his vehicle.
As Brennan began to approach the girl, who stood on top of a staircase, he was jumped by two men who had their faces covered with bandanas.
Brennan claimed he was struck and forced to his knees. He said the attackers asked, “Where is the $70?”
Brennan said he dropped the cash on the ground when he was attacked.
Police said they identified the three men on the surveillance camera.
Brennan said the cash and a vape appliance were stolen from him.
Robinson, Amos and Hodgson were charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy, theft, simple assault and loitering and prowling at night.
Robinson and Amos, who were being held at the Lackawanna County Prison in an unrelated case, were jailed for lack of $25,000 bail each. Hodgson remained jailed Tuesday at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $20,000 bail.
