FOSTER TWP. — A New York City woman was arrested after state police allegedly found 86 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 on Monday night.

Troopers said they stopped Ashlynn Paige Campbell, 25, of Brooklyn, for driving a Nissan too closely to another vehicle while traveling east on the interstate just after 6:30 p.m.

Campbell was issued a warning and refused a trooper’s request to search the vehicle.

A canine trained in drug detection later made a hit on the Nissan, and a search of the trunk turned up the large quantity of marijuana, according to a criminal complaint.

Campbell was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge Joseph Halesey in Hanover Township on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $75,000 bail.
