HAZLETON — City police arrested a man after they say he rushed into an elderly woman’s home Monday night.

Adam Kostko, 35, of Hazleton, was jailed after the incident.

According to a criminal complaint:

Police were called to the 800 block of North Wyoming Street for a possible home invasion after an elderly woman reported that a white man with lots of tattoos ran in her residence before she fled.

The woman told police that she never saw the man before.

Officers entered the home and arrested Kostko in the living room without incident.

“Anyone that prays on the elderly will be dealt with swiftly and decisively,” said Hazleton Police Chief Jerry Speziale.

Kostko was arraigned via video by District Judge Brian Tupper on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, attempted criminal trespass and attempted criminal burglary.

Kostko was remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility after he was unable to post bail set at $25,000.
