LUZERNE — The use of medical marijuana to treat people with autism will be the topic of a free public event Friday at The Graham Academy High School.

Erica Daniels, a medical marijuana activist, author and the mother of a child with autism, will be the featured speaker at the event set for 4 p.m.

The Graham school is at 469 Miller St. in Luzerne.

Pennsylvania’s Medical Marijuana Act lists autism as one of the qualifying conditions for the use of medical marijuana.

Supporting Autism & Families Everywhere (SAFE); the Justice Grown medical marijuana dispensary in Edwardsville; and Standard Farms, a medical marijuana grower and processor in White Haven, are promoting the event.

The presentation is for adults only. There will be no child care available. Reservations are required and can be sent by email to: [email protected].

Parking will be available at the rear of the building on Oliver Street. Attendees can walk around the right side of the building to the entrance in the front.
