WILKES-BARRE — City police have released video footage of an attack on a student leaving a football game last Friday.

Per the department’s Facebook page:

Footage shows a group attack a “defenseless student” on Hanover Street immediately following the Holy Redeemer vs. Holy Cross game at Memorial Stadium.

After the student was attacked, he said his headphones were stolen.

Following the attack, about five males are seen running down the block and out of sight of a surveillance camera positioned across the street.

Police believe that some of the suspects involved may have been hanging out at the top of the bleachers during the game.

Authorities did not say how badly injured the victim was.

Anyone with information in identifying any of those involved is urged to contact Det. Stash at 570-208-0911.
