Police: Missing teen has been found safe

UPDATE: Police say Reyes has been found and is safe.

WILKES-BARRE — City police are searching for a 14-year-old girl who was last seen with a 31-year-old man and could be in danger.

Alex Reyes, 14, was last seen approximately 2:15 p.m. Friday with Reynaldo Mercado, 31, on Maffett Street, Wilkes-Barre, according to a post on the Pennsylvania State Police Facebook page.

Police described Reyes as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 105 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black shorts and a black short-sleeve T-shirt.

Mercado is 6 feet 2 inches, 210 pounds, with short black hair and hazel eyes.

“Police believe Reyes may be at risk of harm or injury,” the post states.

Anyone with information on Reyes or Mercado is encouraged to contact police immediately. Call 9-1-1 or the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department at 570-826-8106.
