WILKES-BARRE — If you’re looking for the next step in your career — or even the first step — the Times Leader’s got you covered.
The Times Leader Career Fair is set for Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Best Western Plus Genetti Hotel & Conference Center at 77 E. Market St. in downtown Wilkes-Barre.
Parking at the conference center will be free for the career fair.
Kerry Miscavage, vice president of sales and marketing for the Times Leader Media Group, said the fair comes at a time of expansion for the region.
“With a growing number of employers in the area, we still need career fairs so employers can find the people they need,” Miscavage said.
She believes career fairs like the one scheduled for Tuesday help employers find many potential employees all at one stop, and there is also a crucial benefit for job seekers.
“You get face-time with some of the top local employers,” she said, something that she considers to be absolutely invaluable.
Some of those who will be seeking employees Tuesday include local medical firms, insurance companies and even state agencies like the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania State Police.
The Times Leader holds a career fair in the spring and fall, allowing employers to find potential candidates they might not have seen otherwise.
Some employers even do on-site interviews.
