PRINGLE — A Doylestown man was arrested last week on charges he had sex with a 15-year-old girl from Pringle.

Jay Elwood Conden, 24, allegedly admitted to detectives from Luzerne County and Kingston he had sex with the teen girl from Aug. 31 to Sept. 21, including more than a dozen times over Labor Day weekend.

Detectives said Conden requested the girl send him nude pictures and in return he sent a picture of his genitals to her via Facebook Messenger.

The investigation began with a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

According to a criminal complaint:

Detectives obtained chat messages that were sexual in nature and lewd pictures exchanged between Conden and the girl.

During an interview, she told detectives she met Conden about two years ago because her mother is friends with Conden’s father.

She began using Facebook Messenger about a month ago to chat with Conden and acknowledged their conversations involved sex. She claimed she sent Conden lewd pictures of herself when he requested them.

The girl told detectives Conden visited her over Labor Day weekend and they had sex.

Conden told police he was aware the girl was 15, and felt they needed to keep their relationship on the “down low,” fearing he could get in trouble.

He admitted to visiting the girl over Labor Day weekend with plans to patronize a fair in Wyoming County. During his visit, Conden told detectives he had sex 16 times, the complaint says.

Detectives alleged they recovered pictures of the girl on Conden’s cell phone.

Conden was arraigned Friday by District Judge Daniel O’Donnell in Sugarloaf on four counts of child pornography, two counts each of statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors and a single count of criminal use of a communication facility. He was jailed at the county lockup for lack of $25,000 bail.
