ASHLEY — A man wanted since spring on charges he physically and sexually assaulted a woman inside a South Main Street apartment was arraigned Friday.

Borough police allege Al-Quadir Hubbard, 29, severely assaulted a 46-year-old woman April 18. Police said the woman was hospitalized due to the severity of her injuries.

An arrest warrant was signed by District Judge Joseph Halesey in Hanover Township in April charging Hubbard with two counts each of aggravated assault and indecent assault, and one count each of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.

After his arraignment, Hubbard was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $100,000 bail.
