The SPCA of Luzerne County is appealing to the community for information after the remains of two dogs, both wrapped in tarps, were discovered in separate locations last week.

The first, which appeared to be an English Bulldog, was discovered Oct. 4 in a wooded area near the Laurel Run Estates Mobile Home Park, SPCA Operations Manager Anita Raineri said Thursday.

The animal’s remains were “very deteriorated,” Ranieri said, and had been wrapped in a blue tarp. The dog is believed to have been white and brown.

The following day, remains from a medium-to-large breed dog were found near Lucas Farms Produce Center in Hanover Twp. near a wastewater facility.

That dog, which had black hair, may have been a Labrador or Border breed, she said. It was found wrapped in a hunter-orange tarp, with a muzzle embedded into its snout.

Anyone with information on either dog is asked to call the SPCA at 570-825-4111.
