WILKES-BARRE — A district judge has dismissed domestic violence charges against Bradley Mrochko, a corporal at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, during a preliminary hearing in Luzerne County Central Court.

Mrochko, 47, was charged by Rice Township police after Angela Sweet claimed he punched her in the head several times with a closed first and grabbed her throat on Sept. 22.

District Judge Thomas Malloy dismissed charges of simple assault and harassment against Mrochko on Oct. 11, when Sweet refused to testify.

Mrochko was placed on unpaid administrative leave when he was charged. He has since returned to work.
