WILKES-BARRE — Two people scheduled for trial in Luzerne County Court on drug trafficking offenses and possessing counterfeit cash were arraigned Wednesday as fugitives from West Virginia in connection to a deadly shooting earlier this year.

Elizabeth Chinn, 33, of Ohio, and Glenn Weaver, 26, of West Virginia, have been jailed at the county lockup since their capture in a hotel room at Mohegan Sun Pocono on April 25.

When they were arrested, state police discovered counterfeit currency, equipment to produce fake cash, methamphetamine and three loaded handguns, court records say.

Elizabeth Hartley, 36, and Moriah Weaver, 43, both from West Virginia, were also arrested.

Chinn and Glenn Weaver are scheduled for trial next week on the contraband allegedly found in the hotel room.

The fugitive warrants from West Virginia were filed against Chinn and Glenn Weaver due to their upcoming trial. Once their trial concludes, they face charges related to the shooting death of Timothy Pahl, 67, in Morgantown, West Virginia, on April 21.

Chinn was charged in West Virginia on April 30 with first-degree homicide, and Glenn Weaver and Hartley were charged with accessory after the fact.

According to the Monongalia County, W.V., Sheriff’s Office, Chinn burglarized Pahl’s residence and was confronted when Pahl arrived home. Chinn allegedly shot Pahl multiple times, and later conspired with Glenn Weaver to steal items from Pahl’s residence.

Glenn Weaver allegedly stole Pahl’s 2017 GMC Sierra pickup that he later re-painted. He also removed its On-Star locating device, police report.

Hartley is accused in aiding Chinn after Pahl’s death.

Moriah Weaver was not charged with the homicide. Her trial related to the alleged contraband in the hotel room is set for January.

Authorities in West Virginia traced Pahl’s credit card transactions to Luzerne County, alerting troopers that they were possibly in the Wilkes-Barre area.

Chinn was allegedly spotted driving Pahl’s truck in the casino parking lot.

Troopers followed Chinn to a fifth-floor hotel room where the four were arrested.

Chinn and Glenn Weaver are scheduled for extradition hearings next week in county court.
