COVINGTON TWP. — A Luzerne County woman was badly hurt in a crash involving seven vehicles, including multiple tractor-trailers, on Interstate 380 on Friday afternoon, authorities report.

Gina Bellersen, 53, of Inkerman, was taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton for “severe injuries,” according to a press release.

Bellersen was driving a Honda CRV that was struck by a Freightliner rig being operated by Grzegorz Gardocki, of Blakeslee, troopers said.

Gardocki’s rig was hit by another Freightliner before striking Bellersen’s vehicle, a report states.

The crash occurred about 1:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes in Covington Township, Lackawanna County.

Police say other drivers were taken to hospitals for minor injuries.
