WILKES-BARRE — A 20-year-old man reported to city police Sunday two tires were flattened on his vehicle when it was parked on South Hancock Street.

Bicycle stolen

from residence

WILKES-BARRE — A 44-year-old man reported a gray Schwinn bicycle that had a ‘For Sale’ sign on it was stolen from the front of a residence on Amber Lane on Monday, city police said.

Police said a man wearing a white jacket and white sneakers jumped on the bicycle and rode off.

Furnace repairman

charged with theft

ROSS TWP. — A Harveys Lake man was arraigned Wednesday on charges he stole containers filled with coins and a handgun from a residence where he repaired a furnace.

State police allege Gary Allen Oakes, 47, of Cardinal Lane, was instructed by his employer, Bill Davis, to repair a furnace at a residence on Lakeview Drive on Dec. 14, 2016. Davis was ill at the time and asked Oakes to repair the furnace, according to a criminal complaint.

The homeowner later reported a .40-caliber handgun and containers filled with coins were stolen.

An employee at Weis Market in Dallas told state police Oakes allegedly used an automated coin counting machine inside the store on Dec. 22, 2016.

Oakes was arraigned in Luzerne County Central Court by District Judge Joseph Spagnuolo Jr. on five counts of theft. He was jailed at the county correctional facility for lack of $25,000 bail.

Hazleton man allegedly

sold methamphetamine

HAZLETON — After a several-month investigation, city police and the Luzerne County Drug Task Force have charged Daniel Claudio Sekosan, 34, known as “Cilo,” with selling methamphetamine.

Sekosan, of 1224 E. Broad St., Hazleton, sold meth from his residence and near his home since March, according to a criminal complaint.

Sekosan allegedly sold 1 ounce of meth for $1,000 and 1 gram for $100.

He was arraigned Wednesday in Luzerne County Central Court by District Judge Joseph Spagnuolo Jr. on two counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility. He was jailed at the county lockup for lack of $100,000 bail.

Two accused

in meth sales

KINGSTON — Police and the Luzerne County Drug Task Force arrested two people on charges they sold methamphetamine in September.

Colin W. Longworth, 23, of Stillwater, and Shannon Marie Callahan, 22, of Hunlock Township, allegedly sold methamphetamine Sept. 25.

Longworth and Callahan were arraigned Wednesday in Luzerne County Central Court by District Judge Joseph Spagnuolo Jr. on two counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy, and one count each of possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility. Longworth was further charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Longworth and Callahan were jailed without bail due to other pending cases, court records state.

Wanted people captured

during separate traffic stops

HANOVER TWP. — Township police captured two wanted people during separate traffic stops.

Police said they arrested Qawee Rivers, 24, of Wilkes-Barre, during a stop on Lee Park Avenue at about 12:22 a.m. Thursday. A records check revealed Rivers was wanted by the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Department. Rivers was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility awaiting extradition to Lebanon County.

Police also arrested April Smith, 27, of Wilkes-Barre, during a stop on South Main Street at about 3:38 a.m. Tuesday. A records check revealed Smith was wanted by the Luzerne County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear for a court proceeding on a drug paraphernalia charge.

Police allege Smith was found with paraphernalia during the stop. She was also jailed at the county lockup.
