WILKES-BARRE — City police are seeking information on a robbery that resulted in a woman going to the hospital for a gunshot wound Wednesday.

At approximately 7 p.m., officers were dispatched to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for a 25-year-old gunshot victim who walked in.

While speaking with officers, she was hesitant to provide details as to how she got shot.

However, she did say she was robbed by a tall dark-skinned male and a short light-skinned male. But she was unsure where the robbery happened, giving police two separate locations.

A press release from police on the incident lists the location of the robbery as Winter Lane, which is between Grant and Sherman streets and near Northampton Street.

The woman, who is from Wilkes-Barre, underwent surgery for her non-life threatening wound.

Police say an investigation continues.
