DRUMS — Supervisors on a 2-1 vote Tuesday hired Jennifer Pecora as the new township manager.

Pecora takes over for former Luzerne County Commissioner Maryanne Petrilla, who resigned in September after her second stint in the position.

Supervisors Brian Kisenwether and Frank Polidora voted in favor of Pecora, who had been serving as Butler Township’s budget and finance manager.

Supervisor Charles Altmiller voted against the hire.

Altmiller nominated Theron Hausman for the job, but no one seconded Altmiller’s motion.

Hausman’s LinkedIn page shows he’s general manager at the Beech Mountain Lakes Association. Beech Mountain is an expansive housing development off Route 309 in the township.

Kisenwether said Pecora’s salary was set at $53,000 annually.

She is the mother of two sons and resides in neighboring Sugarloaf Township.

She will start in the new position immediately.
