HAZLETON — Four people were taken to the hospital after an alleged hit-and-run assault in Hazleton, and police are looking for the man they say did it.

According to a press release from Chief of Police Jerry Speziale, Travis Flanagan met with one of the male victims just after noon Wednesday to discuss the transfer of vehicle titles. The meeting occurred in the area of Laurel and Broad streets in the city.

Police say Flanagan then physically assaulted the male victim. Two female family members attempted to intervene, but Flanagan allegedly pushed them to the ground.

He then got into a white GMC Acadia SUV and fled, striking the two women plus a parking agent employed with the city, according to authorities.

The victims, whose names were not included in the release, were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital — Hazleton.

Speziale says Flanagan will be charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, reckless driving and careless driving. A warrant for his arrest will also be issued.

Hazleton Police are asking anyone with information regarding Flanagan’s whereabouts to contact them at either 911 or 570-459-4940.
