HANOVER TWP. — A Hanover Township man is facing a number of charges after an alleged domestic disturbance Saturday night.

Darius Michael Rodriguez, 25, was arrested after he allegedly injured a female during the disturbance and then a police officer while resisting arrest.

According to a post on the Hanover Township Police Department’s Facebook page:

At approximately 10 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance call on Little Street.

Officers arrested Rodriguez after he allegedly caused injuries to a female victim.

While an officer attempted to take him into custody, Rodriguez resisted and injured the officer.

He was taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on a Lackawanna County adult probation detainer to await overnight arraignment.

Rodriguez was arraigned Sunday morning by District Judge James Haggerty on two counts of simple assault, one count of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, possession of marijuana, use and possession of drug paraphernalia, harassment and disorderly conduct.

He was remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail.
