PITTSTON TOWNSHIP — The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport will host a TSA PreCheck enrollment program next month, and is inviting travellers to schedule appointments now.

The program gives verified low-risk air travelers an expedited screening experience that eliminates the need to remove shoes, 3-1-1 liquids, laptops, light outerwear or belts.

A temporary enrollment center will be located at the airport’s Barry J. Centini Conference Room, from Dec. 17 through Dec. 21. Open hours will be:

Monday to Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Thursday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The application process is completed on site where your fingerprints are captured for a background check and the $85 application fee is collected for five years of service. The fee can be paid by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.

To complete the application process, you will need to bring proof of identity and U.S. citizen documentation.

Applicants are encouraged to pre-enroll at https://www.identogo.com/precheck, which will give the option of starting a new application and choosing an appointment time at AVP.
