WRIGHT TWP. — The Crestwood School Board voted this week to grant the contractor working on the new fieldhouse at the athletic stadium more time to complete site preparation.

The board approved an extension from May 15, 2019 to June 15. The move will come at no additional cost to the district.

At the same time, directors approved two payments to Kobalt Construction for work at the site, the first totaling $121,500, and the second, $274,630.

Payment will be made through the district’s Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust account.

PLGIT funds were also utilized to remit $10,934 to Urban Electrical Contractors for interior renovations in the auditorium and $62,701 to Champion Builders Inc. for other work in the auditorium.

Also this week, directors approved a proposed trip by the Crestwood cheerleaders to compete in the National Cheerleading Championships on Feb. 6 at Disney World in Orlando, Fla. The excursion will be under the supervision of Carolyn Fey and it will be at no expense to the district.

In other matters, the board:

• Approved the appointment of Dean Ambosie as athletic director and facilities usage coordinator at a salary of $36,000.

• Appointed Carolyn Moore as a long-term secondary substitute language teacher at a salary of $40,771.

• Appointed Amanda Tredinnick as a long-term substitute elementary teacher at a salary of $40,771.

• Approved a field trip by the French Club to Canada on Feb. 15.

• Accepted the resignation of Russell Kile as girls soccer and lacrosse coach.

• Accepted a contract at $86 per hour for English language service at the Rice school by the Luzerne Intermediate Unit.

• Accepted a proposal by Encore Therapy Services for speech classes at a cost of $115 per hour.
