WILKES-BARRE — City police are investigating a Friday night shooting in the 100 block of Wood Street as an aggravated assault case.

According to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department’s Facebook page:

A 20-year-old black male walked into a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Officers responded to the hospital and subsequently determined the shooting took place on Wood Street.

Several pieces of evidence were recovered from the scene after officers cordoned off the area.

A neighbor told the Times Leader he heard multiple gunshots just before 10 p.m.
