Police seek pair

in Big Lots thefts

WILKES-BARRE TWP. — A man stealing merchandise at Big Lots threatened a manager and pulled out a knife when confronted, officers say.

The incident happened about 8 p.m. Thursday at the East End Centre.

Two men were seen trying to steal items, and when the manager tried to stop one of them, the suspect pulled a knife and fled with approximately three Polaroid wireless Bluetooth LED speakers/boomboxes worth $45 each.

That suspect was described as a black man between ages 50 and 60 with a gray goatee. He was about 6 feet tall and 230 pounds and was wearing a black winter hat, blue jacket, white undershirt and gray sweatpants.

The other suspect abandoned the items he was trying to steal before he fled. He is described as a black man between the ages of 25 and 40. He was about 5 feet 9 inches and 200 pounds with a black goatee. He was wearing a black jacket with a green vest over the jacket, a black baseball hat with a logo, khaki pants and brown boots.

Police: Drunken man

passed out at Turkey Hill

WILKES-BARRE — A man from the Poconos area was arrested for public intoxication early Friday at the Turkey Hill on North Wilkes-Barre Boulevard, police report.

Tamango Brown, 24, of Long Pond, was found passed out inside the store about 12:39 a.m., according to authorities.

He was previously banned from that Turkey Hill, officers noted.

Besides drunkenness, Brown will be cited with trespassing.

Man allegedly

damaged window

WILKES-BARRE — A Hanover Township man is accused of damaging a vehicle window on South Main Street in Wilkes-Barre about 1 a.m. Friday.

Jimmy Lee Foster, 37, will face a criminal mischief charge, police reported.

The victim is listed as a 27-year-old man whom officers did not identify.
